Dr Irin Zaman, a gynecologist at the Chittagong Mother and Child Hospital, died from coronavirus infection at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Tuesday morning.

Irin, who was a 14th batch student of Comilla Medical College and Hospital, died at Intensive Care Unit of the hospital while undergoing treatment at 1:40pm.

Ranjan Kumar Nath, head of ICU department of the CMCH, confirmed the matter to media.

With this, 64 doctors have died of Covid-19 in the country so far and ten more had died with coronavirus symptoms, said Dr Rahat Anwar Chowdhury, Joint Secretary of Foundation for Doctors Safety Rights and Responsibility (FDSR).
